Project meeting in Barcelona

Project meeting in Amsterdam

On the first project meeting, there were presentations on the theoretical and practical aspects and experiences of outreach work in local projects in Berlin, Liverpool and Amsterdam. One of the important questions was sustainability. The participants made an excursion to Transvaal neighbourhood in Amsterdam, where the AHM is developing contacts and collecting stories for the 2010 exhibition on the Neighbourhood Shops and for the special exhibition website. Volunteers, entrepreneurs, and the street manager were actively included.
The project partners made a “Story” walk on Steve Biko square.
During dinner on the first evening, besides the participants in the symposium, there were guests from local councils, the university, cultural organisations, entrepreneurs, creative industry and volunteers. To stimulate networking, there were three presentations by:
Mariette Hoitink, director HTNK, project leader Red Light Fashion, Amsterdam
Helen Couwenberg, office manager VU Centre for Entrepreneurship, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
Ab Cherribi, alderman city district De Baarsjes, Amsterdam
After sessions in parallel workshops, there were presentations by the young entrepreneurs Lucky Mi Fortune Cooking, Akki Colenbrander/Kosmopolis Rotterdam and Deborah Solomon, before the partners made a new entrepreneurs guided tour Amsterdam Zuidoost.
